Something new for me today. An amp bypass on a 90' volvo 760. The diagram on this site didn't help much so I'm posting my own findings done with a DMM and my trusty powerprobe. This car has a six speaker set-up. Two speakers on top front dash powered by OEM deck and the other four are powered by amp which is located under drivers dash to left of steering column.

AT RADIO:

12 VOLT - BROWN / GREEN

SWITCH - BLACK / YELLOW

GROUND - BLACK

DASH LIGHTS - BROWN / BLACK

P. ANT. - RED

FRONT LEFT DASH - WHITE (-), WHITE/ RED (+)

FRONT RIGHT DASH - GREY (-), GREY/RED (+)

AT AMP:

FRONT RIGHT - GREY / YELLOW (+), GREY (-)

FRONT LEFT - WHITE/ YELLOW (+), WHITE (-)

REAR LEFT - BROWN / YELLOW (+), BROWN / GREEN (-)

REAR RIGHT - BLACK / YELLOW (+), BLACK/ GREEN (-)

So how could I connect a dimmer or illumination wire to work with this light system? I tried once on another Volvo and burned out the switch.

I had no idea that there was an advanced search on this site where you could pull up PDF files. I knew I should of looked harder. Oh well, thanx anyways.
