i have a customer with a pontiac grand prix. he's got a Delphi Amp 28039095 installed in the trunk. Everytime he transmits with his HAM radio all the speakers go off. I've tried moving the Radio antenna and tried adding a ground wire to the trunk. but no luck.......any suggestions?

Shielding, shielding and shielding.

Yes - you need earths, but around all the signal carrying connections. (I presume you grounded the trunk lid?)

And alternative is to fit RF chokes etc to the inputs or outputs.
Maybe even a mere bypass capacitor will do the trick.

I presume it's around the 27-28Mz range - a pain in the Rs for that penetration (until cooked by radars LOL!)

If he was a HAM operator in the traditional sense, he should be aware the steps needed - or figure the out. But then he could ask that in Morse too.

Is there interference or do the speakers cut off?
