Hello -

I'm getting ready to install a new Kenwood amp. When looking at the manual on wiring up my subs, I'm not sure what this symbol means (see photo). I called Kenwood and they don't know either?!?

Help please.

Thanks.

It indicates that the wire is longer than it appears.  It just means that there could be additional footage in the wire.

I believe that just indicates the wires are longer than depicted in the diagram and the diagram is not to scale.  It's done this way so the installer can see the complete schematic.

I was going to reply a LOL that Kenwood Support didn't know....

However I now see it's one of those common things for some.... (I love it - to find I have not known or missed something so common.... so humbling.)

I'm so used to seeing those SS's used on graph axis, wiring & mechanical diagrams....

I think it's a little pathetic that Kenwood didn't know.  So much for tech support huh?  LOL  If the tech wasn't sure, he/she could've taken your number and called you back with an answer.
