My DVC Audiobahn 12" sub has 2 negative and 2 positive terminals on each side of the sub. It is definitely a dual and not a quad according to the manual. should I wire up all 4 terminals on 1 side and leave the other blank.

are these just spares on the other side so that you can wire it up to the left or right depending on what side the terminals are on the box?

If you wire just one set, you will be running a single coil. Just keep in mind that the MAX rms is calculated using both coils. Some say its ok to run single coil (with caution), others say "not such a good idea" I say, not such a good idea. Match your amp with a sub properly and you don't have to worry about toasting a voice coil, "generally". haha
