i recently bought two 12" polk audio DXi 124 Dual-voice coil subs...I'm completely new to the whole car sound system area, and II need help deciding what kind of amp i should buy. ..

a brief description of the subs i bought:
Peak power handling: 720 watts
RMS: 360 watts
frequency response: 27 hz-200 hz
sensitivity: 88dB
impedance: dual 4 Ohm

I was looking around on amazon and I found a BOSS amp, (Boss PH2.800 Phantom 1600 Watt Mosfet 2-Channel Bridgeable Amplifier), and was wondering if this would be a sufficient amp to power my two subs.

the whole "1-4 ohm's" thing is really unclear to me, and i'm not sure if the BOSS amp i found would be compatible/a good fit for my subs.

any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!!! THANK YOU!

okay what the "ohm thing" means is that at different impedances (ohms) different amounts of power will be produced by your amplifier.   https://www......com/item_23547_Hifonics-Brutus-BRZ1700.1D.html     this will show you what i mean. now the method that you use to wire your subwoofers will change what kind of impedance your amplifier is trying to give you. for instance with the link i just gave you if you wire your subs at 1 ohm you will receive 1700 watts RMS from the amp. if you wire them at 4 ohms you will receive 600 watts RMS from the amp.   this is a diagram of what options you have with two dual 4 ohm speakers https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=42#results

also keep in mind that not all amplifiers will work at 1 ohm and will blow if you try to wire your speakers to 1 ohm and the amp isnt made for that.      most 2 channel amps arent made for 1 ohm. you should check out https://www......com/cat_i22_car-amplifiers.html for ideas about what im talking about.

"and for whatever reason"? Really? Try reading the forum rules... "The e-auction site" most specifically, but other "less than scrupulous" selling sites on the web are also blocked by the12volt servers. My guess is the latter in this case, which should tell you that maybe you need to find a better respected e-tailer for your purchases (if you are buying from this site). If it's blocked, it's bad; they probably are NOT authorized sellers of one or more products that they sell.
