Dumb question,  Ihave a Ford excursion and I need to pull out the head unit without tool.  How can I do this without the tool? Can I use small screwdrivers?  do I sqeez in or push out when pulling the system out?

They're called DIN Removal tools if you need to ask for them.

Wal-mart sells the din removal tools - probably some auto parts stores too. Around $5 or maybe less.
