JL and Alpine are the two that come to my mind right off... Then there's Rockford Fosbreak, Boss, Kenford, Rockwood... Oh, wait, you said "decent amplifiers"...

Why do you feel it necessary to have a monoblock? Any decent stereo amplifier in bridge mode will do exactly the same thing...

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

i seen this discussion a few times before, an there was some good suggestions to come out of it

sae-500d sundown amp for under 200, its really 800 if your voltage is the high 14.4v

memphis 16-pr1x500 watt amp for about 350

alpine mrx-m50

RF p500-1bd

jlx500/1 from jl audio

these are all great amps for a long-term investment

you also cant forget about crossfire, i got a few of the vr series amps an they are definately in the same category as the manufactures i mentioned up above

Genesis Series III Monoblock or Dual Mono Extreme since you didn't specify a price range.  posted_image

Being mono or stereo has nothing to do with efficiency.
