Years ago I called Dell tech support (the computer people) because me and my cohorts got into a arguement about what was best to clean the LCD's on laptops computers. Dell said the best thing is a soft damp cloth, just water and make sure its not wet enough to drip into the edges. They said never under any circumstances to use abrasive cleaners, including glass cleaner, because the plastic can be affected by them.   So considering car LCD's are pretty much mini laptop monitors I would suggest the same thing.

The best thing to clean LCD's with is isopropyl alcohol with something extremely soft (I use cotton swabs or cotton rounds). This will not harm or discolor the plastic, it gets EVERYTHING off, and it evaporates fast (Alcohol is generally a wonderful solvent for cleaning anything electronic).
