proper way to wire amp, led’s?

I'm adding to my 2014 Taurus SHO audio system, and I want to make sure to wire everything properly.

I'm leaving everything factory but adding two 10" subs (Kenwood) ran of of a Sony amp. From the research I've done, it appears that doing it through a processor (such as an AudioControl Lc2i) is the best way - that way, I don't have to do a separate remote-on wire and I can still use the steering wheel controls, etc. I'm also planning on tapping into the speaker wires near the rear speakers so that it's after the factory amp.

What makes it complicated is, I have some LED lights on the box that I need to turn on, too. One string of lights is wrapped around the box and I want them on when the amp is on; another string is around the sides and I'd like those to pulse with the base.

For the pulsing light, I think I just use the speaker output to run those (though I'm not sure if that causes issues). For the other one, can I use the signal processor to turn them off and on or will I need something separate? Thanks.

Are these LED lights that came with the sub enclosure (if so please post make/model) or are they something you've designed yourself?

Something I did myself. See the picture. The front of the box has a lip all the way around it, I have a blue LED ribbon wrapped around it - this light would be on with the amp. Then, on each side, I want to install a short strip of LED's that would pulse with the base (if not too difficult to do).

Powering LEDs on with the amp is easy. Just use a relay triggered from the amp turn-on signal. Pulsing LEDs with the music is more difficult, but there are controllers you can buy that do that. Here's One.
