This is my first car amp install, years of hooking up home audio. It does not matter how I put my inputs or outputs I get no channel separation. I even hooked up one speaker to the pos front and pos rear and was getting both channels thru that speaker. Its a used Eclipse EA3422 4/3/2 amp, cant find any docs for it. Did the seller rip me off?

Are you using a Pioneer head unit?

Plug only one rca cable into the amp. Do all speakers play now?

Take a piece of 18 gauge or so wire. Ground one end to wherever you have the amp grounded. Strip a few inches off the other end and wrap it around the shield of the RCA cable. Does this change anything?

Your home system has ground on the shield of the rca. Your car amplifier is depending on the ground for the rca cable to be provided by your deck. We are not familiar with your device, it may not have ground on the RCAs.

did some reading on 4/3/2 amps and as it turns out 2 and 3 are always mono no matter what ya do, I popped it to 4 channel and now have seperation. Its ok to only have two speakers? turn the gain down on the channel not being used? bridge them and crank it all?
One thing that I did find broke was the bass by pass for the front , the pot just keeps turning, the rest of them didnt change anything in my ears though. For now, Im happy
