Ummm... Orion? Now owned by Directed, if I remember correctly.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

It's the old Orion hcca, the red one. They don't have a phone number contact on the website.

What parts do you need?

I've got a friend that'll repair it if I can get the parts. I'm not sure which parts he'll need until he tests it out. I want to see if I can get parts if he needs them before he goes through the trouble of looking into it.

Semiconductors and integrated circuits are easily obtainable. Transformers will have to be made. Potentiometers are accessible as well. There are not any proprietary parts in them.

What is the problem with the amplifier? Which amplifier? Is the heat sink dull red or glossy red?

It's the old Orion 250 HCCA. The dull red paint. It looks like some of the parts inside are burned.

Are they the Transistors mounted to the heat sink? If so tell your guy not to use a screwdriver to pry the transistors from the aluminum bar. They will break. He needs to get a set of flush cut wire cutters and open them and grab the corners of the transistor and rock it to separate from the adhesive on that bar. If it is first generation the power supply parts are going to be 2N6488s If a later version they are mosfets that if I remember correctly are 50N06's. Let me know the numbers and I will let you know a suitable replacement.
