I just started to install a used pdx 1.1000. I connected the power and remote turn on wire . I decided to test the power connections before I connect the speaker and rca cable. I get this really high pitch whine/squeal when it is powered up. What could be causing this problem ?

Lack of ground. Try connecting the ground wire too.
