Hey everyone. Let me first thank you for your time in helping me.
Gear: 06 Dodge Charger w/ PA1100.5 amp & stock headunit, alpine type-s 6x9's in the rear, and I think it's a PAC Audio interface to run the amp on the stock headunit (Not positive, its been years since I installed it, and I dont feel like tearing down the dash to find out).
Symptoms: Right rear 6x9 has no audio output. If I switch the wires from the Left rear over to the right rear, then the right rear works. I pulled the wire that leads from the amp to the right rear and tested it with a DMM for continuity, and it is fine (even with me flexing the wire at different angles checking for shorts). Oh yea, I also reversed the RCA inputs to make sure the signal was coming through fine and the left rear worked in both setups.
My question is, does this seem like the speaker output on the amp is bad? Is there a test I didn't think to do? If the amp is bad, do I have to replace it or are there repair options? (I have decent skills in car audio/security installation if that helps any repair options).
And if I have to replace it, I was looking at the MB Quart XA1-1100.5, any opinions? I'm sadly on a limited budget for replacement options.
Sounds to me like you have done all the basic trouble shooting steps. One other thing you might check is using your DMM set to AC Volts, check both left and right amplifier outputs while some program material is playing. If the right shows low or zero volts while the left shows some positive number, the right output is dead. If so, my advice is replace the amp.
