Hello. I've done a bit of searching and still haven't quite found the answer so here I am. I have a 97 dodge Dakota with a factory infinity sound system. Taking out the factory radio to a newer kenwood radio. No speakers or amp or anything else. Just the radio. I have everything wired up by color matching and the radio will not work. I'm stumped. Triple checked my work and it appears to be right. Am I missing a step?

The infinity system would have an amplifier turn on lead that needs to be connected...GREEN/ red? at the end of one of the seven pin harnesses.

All of the wires are connected at my harness to my supplied aftermarket radio harness.

How do you have it grounded? Doesn't this radio ground through the braided wire on the back of the radio. since there is no ground wire in the harness you will need to ground your new radio to the ground strap or run a new ground.

The ground issue worked. I originally made a new ground but I guess that wasn't enough. Just took a spade end and plugged it into the original ground.

But now there is no sound from my speakers.

What did you connect to the blue wire of the harness?

Remote wire is probably not connected. I think that truck has the amplifiers attached directly to the speakers. Keep this in mind if you decide to swap speakers.
