I have a 2002 Civic EX Sedan.... I am putting a dual 12" box in the back.  My question is how is the best way to put it?

1.  Box as far "forward" as possible, subs facing "rear"

2.  Box as far "forward" as possible, subs facing "forward"

3.  Box as far "back" as possible, subs facing "rear"

4.  Box as far "back" as possible, subs facing "forward"

????  Any and all opinions are appreciated.  Previously I had two 10" and I had them mounted like option #1.  Now the box is a little bigger and I am not sure the sound would be "as" good.  Any ideas?

I read time and time again that the best method is what you describe as #1.
Subs facing rear, should give you the best gain.
If you can, test it out and see what you prefer.

It will vary from car to car so my advice would be to try many configurations, and see what sounds the best in your car
