I've been searching all over the net trying to find some help with adding an aftermarket amplifier to my Nox Pioneer stock system. Back in the 80's and 90's never had a problem. I understand that the amplifier is located under the steering wheel on a bracket. I'm very good with wiring and soldering and can read a schematic with ease. From what I understand, it's best to tap into the speaker outputs instead of the low level inputs as the amp needs a load and over time will die with no speaker load. I'm considering installing the AudioControl LC7i Black 6-Channel Line Output Converter product. Along with a 4 channel amp for the door speakers. I alos plan to replace the garbage subwoofer in back with a dual coil 8 inch, low profile in back. I understand that the ANC is pumped through one of the subwoofer coils and would like to keep that functional. I could install a 2 channel amp in back for that? If anyone has worked on a 2014 Equinox with Nav and can lend some professional advice, that would be great before I try and tackle this. Wiring diagrams would be great. I did notice something for the 2015 Equinox on here.

I am not sure about that vehicle, but some of the GM vehicles use that subwoofer only for noise cancellation. Have you listened to it to make sure there is actual audio coming from it?

Yes, the LTZ model pushes a small amount of base out of the sub. It has a dual voice coil to support ANC and base separately.
