Hpf and lpf between 2 units

My Sony mex-5100bt has both hpf settings for frequency and slope as well as lpf frequency and slope settings for the pre amp output. My 5ch amp (boss 3700w) also has hpf and lpf frequency settings. Which filters should i use? Both? How do i correctly set the filters?

Need more info? What is hooked to what? How may rcas are you running from head unit and what are they Front ,Rear Sub out ect.
