I have a customer that has (4) Dual 2 subs and (4) dual 4 subs. A total of 8 subs. He wants them wired to 1 amp and this amp is 2 ohm stable monoblock amp. This is what he has, he does not want to change. I know if I wire 4 of the dual 2's in parallel/series it will give me a 4 ohm output, and 4 of the 4's in series/parallel will give me a 2 ohm output. Can I then take the final out wires of each configuration, positive, positive and negative, negative of each group and get a final output of 2 or more. Thanks.

Your best net load is 2.666-ohms. Wire the 4 x 2-ohm DVC subs for 4 ohms net and the 4X 4-ohm DVC subs for 8-ohms net, then put both sets in parallel at the amp. The down side to this is the 2-ohm subs will receive twice the power of the 4-ohm subs, but the amp will be able to handle the load.
