Kenwood ddx672bh In Acura 3.5RL with Bose

Hello all,

I am seeking advice regarding my latest install.
I recently installed a Kenwood ddx672bh in my 1999 Acura 3.5RL with stock/OEM bose system.

I used a harness so connect the new Kenwood Head unit to the OEM wiring harness.

As i understand it, the Bose system is a 2ohm system, but most aftermarket equipment is 4ohm. You can imagine what i hear when i have the volume turned all the way down. (hisssssss)

Now i was told by friend of mine who has a lot of experience not only with car audio, but building and designing his own drivers and cones, that i have 2 options.

1) run new speakers and run a new amp to drive them using one of the 3 pre-outs from my kenwood.

2) use resistors (he didnt give details)

Im quite interested in option 2 because i'd like to know where to install the resistors and how. I think it would be quite educational for me and i am eager to learn how this works!

option 1 will always be an option, simply because its the easiest way.

Please tell me more about option 2!!!
(i have quite a bit of time before option 1 is financially viable so in the meantime maybe i can learn something interesting that i can try!)

If the factory amplifier is still working and you don't want to bypass it (would require need speakers) you have a few easy options.

1. use a adjustable line output converter like a PAC-LP6. Rca from
   radio to converter, use the dial to get it just right.

2. Get a set of rca cables and cut the ends off leaving enough room
   to wire them to the inputs on your wiring harness. Not adjustable,
   but it'll work.

Both will lower your input to the factory amp giving you more range with volume. I'd cut a set of rcas first and give it a shot.
