I have a 2014 Ford Fusion and evidently there is no dash kit for the year and model of my vehicle, does that mean i can't purchase and use a new head unit? I had found a nice Alpine with CD/DVD/Bluetooth and Navigation. I've checked all the major manufactures like Metra and Scoche. I'm a newbie, know nothing about car audio :(

Metra makes a kit for this car. It is the 99-5841B https://www.metraonline.com/part/99-5841B The kit retains all of your cars features though a built in screen on the dash kit. They are not cheap but it is whats required to put a different radio in that car. I believe the kit also includes the wire harness interface for the car and antenna adapter. Ive installed the turbo touch kits in other cars and they work quite well.

Thanks! I think Metra literally just came out with this product about a week ago. When I called them two weeks ago, one didn't exist. But I talked to them 4 days ago and they said the first batch hadn't even been shipped out yet, and that it has not been shipped to wholesalers yet. They still don't know if it will fit all Fusions or just some. I don't know much about dash kits, etc so hopefully they aren't giving me the run around. I don't see how they can sell me the product but they don't know if it'll work or not, though they are advertising it for 2014 Ford Fusions. They said I could ore order and maybe be included in the first batch. I'm slightly confused.

Yeah it is a brand new product. Its usually hard to get ahold of the new stuff right when it comes out. I had to wait like 3 weeks for a equinox kit one time. Maybe it just hasn't been tested in all trim models? I'm assuming the dash assembly is the same across all trims.

I don't know, I'm a novice at this stuff. Custom Audio was suppose to call Metra and make sure it would work for my car and then preorder it for me, but they have yet to call me back. I called them to follow up and they again told me they would call Metra and then call me back. I'm beginning to wonder if they even want to try the installation or not.
