i have a 2015 smart for two and the factory radio can be turned on without key so my question is to install my avh-x490bs do i just snip the red wire from metra harness
and connect the red wire to a wire/fuse that is powered only when key is on or install a switch in the red wire to manually turn red wire on /off?
i searched for wiring diagram for 2015 smart but no luck anyone know of one? thanks any help appreciated Eric

Use the red wire on the harness. The 490 will only work when the key is on, if you want it to work without the key you will need to use a switch. The factory radio times out after 10 or 15 minutes. The 490 will play till the battery dies.
