I hooked up a bluetooth himbox to my dads car 07 Libierty and wanted to connect the cable internally rather than having it permanently protruding from the Aux jack. There is 3 wires in their own sheath (red, white and a black which is a shield around the two) and then two other wires run on their own (a yellow and green thicker gauge wire). I tried to connect a female audio jack to it and just couldn't get it to work. It seemed clear the red and white were the left and right on both the car and female 3.5mm jack, but it didn't work. The female jack I was using has a black, green, white and red wire. Any thoughts on how I should be wiring it up?

If you don't know how to interpret the wiring in your vehicle I suggest purchasing the correct Metra kit. Check here: https://www.metraonline.com/vfgapi/vehicle/79881
