Just came back from a dealer who sells pioneer Jl rockford kicker and etc and he told me The new Pioneer Premier dvc 12" subs would rock the Jl audio W6 subs.  Heard a test with the pioneer in a hatchback on a 1000 watt amp it was hittin hard.  Didnt hear the JL audio subs though.  Want to know what u guys think about the new pioneers and jl audio.

I haven't heard that new premier sub but I do know which one you're talking about and it certainly looks like it would pound.  I find it hard to believe that it would "rock" the W6 but hey I guess it's possible.

Is that pioneer your talking about the one with the 360 oz magnet?  Or something like that

Their subs are pretty much old technology

Check out the Kenwood super woofer Stupid Name but these things hit harder can handel more power and are more accurate than the JLW7's. 1600watts pushed through a 13"JL in a box bought from JL and a custom box built for the Kenwood side by side. Ran sweeps to test out the subs and farting was herd. I though it was the Kenwood cuse Iv'e been a JL freak all my life. It turns out it was the JLW7. They turned on a strobe light behind the boxes and the JL was NOT FIREING STRAIGHT. I was very disappointed and am now running 3 13" Super Woofers @1600 Watts RMS. Sealed in a 1.81 Cubid recommended but it can be done @1.2 if you like for each sub. Dual voice coil and can take 1000Watts Rms into each coil. Just bad to the bone. If your gonna do it do it right.

heres the pioneer - https://pioneerelectronics.com/Pioneer/CDA/CarProducts/CarProductDetails/0,1429,92674,00.html

I would compare that to the W7,  i dunno where you got this W6- other than the W6AE and W6v2...but the power range in those two are no where near the pioneer...so its the W7....

i havent head either of these...but from reviews on the W7, it is a sweet sub....

I never knew that pioneer was getting into the SPL stuff.....

We are currently sponsoring a Ford F-350 with 8 of the TS-W5000SPL woofers in it, powered by 16 Fosgate amps.  Our goal is to break the current SPL record, and refine our amp manufacturing and engineering processes.  I'll keep you guys informed as soon as I hear anything else.  :)

8 subs powered by 16 amps? I always heard that was a very dangerous thing to do. Granted you're sponsored and can afford the replacement parts!
