I'm looking at this sub from Visonik the V1265S4

it asks for 2 four inch ports that are 19 inches long tuned at 33 herz. IS it me or is that really long.

I used a couple of online calcutators and they say 10" ports, confirmed by 3 calculators.

I don't want to build a box that deep, should i believe manufacturer specs or go with the standard equations

I would go with the manufacturer specs because it will give you the best sound

You can do different things to make it different, for instance, cut your port that length, then when it gets close to hitting the back of the box, cut it off and put a 90 on it. Or depending on the install, leave the excess port hanging out the front of the box. Just has to be the correct length one way or another. Could possible try converting it to a slot port and see what size that would make it.

If you convert it to a square port you will still have the same port length. https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=14074&KW=square+port
