I seem to have a problem the has so far stumped some pretty good installers in my area. I have a MTX 250D mono amp pushing a Infinity Reference DVC 12". I also have an older Kenwood KAC-848 four channel pushing my other speaker. My problem is that I can't get my amplifier to turn off. When I turn off the car the even after I remove the keys my MTX stays on. My Kenwood turns off without any trouble. At first I had both of the amps on the same turn on lead off of my head unit. I was wondering if my kenwood was doing something funny so I did a quick wire to a switched fuse in my fuse box....Still the same problem! I have tried common and seperate grounds also. I even tried cutting the remote turn on wire and it still didn't turn off. Needless to say I'm stumped. The only way to turn the unit off is to remove the power lead. I thought that I might have a bad amp but it sounds fine when it is on and I tried a little troubleshooting buy taking the amp up front and wiring it directly to the battery. I then jumped the power to the remote turn on and it powered up. When I removed the jumper it turned off like it was suppose to.
Does anyone have any advice, or have you ever seen this before. I really am scratching my head over this one. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Wow that one's tough. You'd better hope Jeff reads this one.

Well if the amp is still under warrentee i say take it back cause that is a very weird problem and you've tried all i could of come up with. Maybe you could try that amp in a friends system and see if you have the same problem just to compare.
Somehow that amp has to be hooked up to the 12v+ constant, I cant really think of any other way it could stay on with your keys out of the car.

The amp is supposed to be hooked up to the constant. I just wonder why is won't turn off even when I drop the remote turn on lead. I think that I'm going to head down to the shop tomorrow and see if then will give me a new one!
