looking for wiring diagrams for factory fitted headunits.what i really need to know are the radio mute pins or wire colours.have tried searching far and wide and im getting kinda desperate for info.i'm in europe and info is not that freely available or else i'm looking in the wrong places.can anyone please help

We need a vehicle make/year/model/trim line/factory stereo option, in order to give you more specific info.

There is a thing called TechSoft that is run by Directed Electronics and most shops have the subscription to the service though.  Sometimes they will include the stereo wiring but much of the time for the vehicles they have info for, it's just stuff that's used for remote start/keyless entry/security systems, etc.

Anyways as far as newer vehicles such as the two you're looking for info on, about the best I can suggest is www.carstereohelp.com.  They have a lot of pinouts and connector diagrams for different makes' radios.

I'm pretty sure the CRV uses the Metra 70-1721 '98-up Honda harness; but as for the Mondeo since that's a vehicle we don't have over here I'm not 100% sure what its plugs look like.  Also if you go to check out this page from installer.com, scroll down to the bottom you will see a bunch of pinouts and diagrams for all sorts of ford vehicles.  As long as you find one that looks like it uses the same size/shape/# of plugs as the mondeo then you can be pretty sure the wiring will all be the same in terms of the pin locations.  A lot of times they might use different colors for the factory wiring but they'll almost always still use the same pin locations for each different wire function.

There is another new style Ford plug that is on some of the '03 vehicles.  I haven't found any pinouts or diagrams for it anywhere online because it is relatively new and only a few of the '03 fords have this kind of plug.  However I do know that harnesses like the Metra 70-5520 are what would plug into the female factory plug ends for this type of connector.
