Hey,
I need some opinions from people with hands on experience with Alpines Type R 15s. I bought one about 2 years ago, and for a few different reasons (Money, Money and Money) the install got shelved. Just curious if anyone that has USED this sub could offer any opinions on wether it would be worth it to use this sub or junk it for a newer model. I'm looking for a sub the can handle 800-1000 wts rms and still retain some accuracy.
They are great for clear sound. they dont pound SUPER loud but are very clear. if you dont want them, let me know, I may take them
IF you want something that holds 1000 watts rms just get the 15" kicker l7. All you need trust me.

My friend has 2 -12" Type R's, and they are the clearest thing's I have ever heard. But he doesn't play his music with "sloppy" bass, he play's loud, but you don't only hear the pounding bass. They are very accurate, but they aren't the hardest hitting subs I've heard.

i have 6 10'' E alpines on a 1000 watt sony d class amp in a 1993 maxima with a custom fiberglass box, and rear deck that is ported, they hit low 150s, before that i had the same box, and amp with jl 10w0s and they only hit 146.9 and these subs were 25$ cheaper ea. than the jl so i think that alpine makes a damn good sub!!!!!
my friend pete has 1 r type alpine in a 1986 regal with a 4 channel kicker amp pushing it and his front stage, and that hits pretty hard too, but his trunk is huge and the amps only giving it 160 wtrms, that is the reason i bought these 10s, i figured if they werent as loud i would sell them and keep the jls, i was a die hard jl ,rockford fan until i got these. the e sub are the cheapest but they have the motor stucture of the w3s...
