Well maybe you can help me with my whole system, its for a 98 dodge ram regular cab.  the Amp i can spend up to 400 for it, and the subs either 10's or 12's around 180 for each.

Ok spend around 300 for your amp and get the JBL BP1200.1.  Way underrated amp.  And the 100 you saved put into your speakers.  The kicker cvr 12's are nice but with that amp I would get the Kicker CVR 15's they cost about 150 bucks each.  So add 20 bucks and you got a system that will hit hard.  Trust me on this I had this same system in my car.

What kind of sound are you looking for SPL, SQ or a little of both? Also how much room do you have to work with?

well bberman1, im looking for a little bit of both.  Im leaning toward the 12" kicker comp vr's.  What do you think of those?  and as for how much room i have to work with, well its a 98 dodge ram pickup regular cab, so it would have to fit behind the seat.

The Comp VR's are a good value and aren’t that bad. But If you have a little extra money to spent I would suggest you take a look at the Diamond Audio CM3 https://www.diamondaudio.com/MobileAudio/index.cfm?page=Subwoofers But either way you go the JBL 1200.1 https://www.purecaraudio.com/product.asp?0=200&1=352&3=322 is a good choice for an amp.
