I have no experience with comps. My question is... I have a 4x40rms amp. I'm getting infinity ref 6000cs comps - 90rms 4ohm. My amp is stable at 2ohm stereo or 4 ohm bridged. Whats the best way to wire them? Thanks
Do you have the model # of the amp? At how many ohms dose it put out 4X40? And are you running any other speakers off that amp?
Its a coustic. I think its the 320QE. The 4x40rms is at 4ohms. I have rears but I am debating on using them. I wanted to give the comps as much as I could to match the rms. But what do you think? You could give me both ways. I may experiment. Thanks

Now your speakers are 4 ohms. If you were to bridge it to 2 channels them you would have too much power (160 watts each) and it would be mono. Really the only way to wire them would be each speaker to its own channel (4 x 40 Watts 4 Ohm Stereo) and if your rears can handle it I would suggest you hook them up as well so you use all 4 channels. Now that amp is not the greatest match for those speakers, I would suggest that you get an amp that puts out closer to 90 watts rms per channel @ 4ohm
Any amp recommendations? Not too expensive...under $200. But my rears are only around 50rms. I can't find the specs on them but I think thats right. They are Kove with a round swivel tweet in the center. Would you recommend putting the fronts and rears in parallel and use just 2 ch on the amp? Will that be too much for the rears or hurt the imaging? I have a pair of Blaupunkt OD's for rears but the tweets are fried. Don't know if thats fixable.
I know most people don't have rears but I want to be prepared either way if I decide I want to use them.
What does a speaker with a higher rms do when matched properly? Does it play louder? Also compared to if I got a comp with a lower rms to match my amp?

P.S. - I only have one rca out on the HU. That runs to the coustic 4ch withand then Y's in and then from the out to my other amp. So I need an amp with an rca out to go to my sub amp unless there is another way.
I forgot to add that I have 4ga from the battery and then 8ga to the amps and a 60a fuse at the battery. Planning on getting a 80a fuse, since I am ordering a jbl bp600.1. That has a 60a fuse in it. I found this

ThanksI would hook your koves (which are some nice speakers) and infinity's up the 320QE and see how it sounds. As far as the 4 channel amps go the Power 551X is a good choice but you might also want to check out this amp

The signal starts to loose both strength and quality when it’s sent thru components, and yours is split to begin with. The EQ and or Electronic X-over acts as a booster and raises the voltage. As far as the difference in the wattage between the koves and the Infinities can be adjusted in the gain control.
