i just picked up a MTX 81000D... and its not working.  where can i get it repaired?

ANy car audio shop should be able to repair it.  If they dont ask them for someone who knows.

Most local TV/VCR repair shops fix car radios/ amps as well. But I would suggest that you contact MTX and if it’s not under warrantee they will fix it and give you a guarantee on the amp for a flat rate.

It will cost more to repair it than to buy a new one. I know the shops In my town charge a ton of money. I don't offer repair in my shop, it's not worth the trouble. You may find someone who can do it cheap. It won't be at a audio shop. You may try MTX they might do it reasonable, maybe.
