I believe that the little wire is the remote wire for the amp.

The little wire (usually 18 or 20 gauge) can serve dual functions. Most commonly, it can be used as the remote turn on wire, since usually the RCAs and the remote wire are going to the same general location. Secondly, I've seen it used as a tertiary ground for the RCAs.

a little wire on its own (usually blue) is your remote turn on wire,,,,if its a wire connected to the RCA wires..its a ground wire, one side hooks up to a ground point on your deck, and the other to the amp (if it has a ground screw terminal for that) its purpose it to drop distortion levels, like almost like a turn table if youve ever hooked one up...

If the kit came with another wire for the remote, should i use that? does the size of the wire matter in this case?
