You usually use the remote turn on your head unit.  Are you trying to connect it to a factory head unit?  if so, what kind of car (year, model)?

ok.,  you could probaly use the positve wire in the cigarette lighter or the switched 12 volt  (ignition) wire on the head unit .  Use a digital multimeter to make sure that the wire on lighter is swicthed.

Need a 12v switched wire? Run your remote wire from your amp to the red wire on your cd player. Not the yellow. The amps will be on until you turn the car off,......but no big deal. You could always add a toggle switch. There should be a remote wire on your Boss CD player(blue). Good luck

if you dont have a wire to splice to i suggest running the remote wire to the b+ and just adding a toggle switch near the head unit. i almost always put a toggle on the remote wire even when there is a amp turn on in the head unit just because some cops are asses.
