I had bad reception so I remounted my anteena's ground. I've notice I get better reception when the engine is off.
I'm guessing it's alternator whine, but I ran the power cable away from my RCA's and antenna cable. power cable on passenger side and antenna cable/RCA's on drivers.
The noise increases with engine speed - so it has to be alternator whine. My guess is that its occuring at the amp where it's connected - should that be a good factor as to why I'm getting radio reception noise.
It's only radio reception - cd's work fine. NAy ideas as to what to look for for radio reception noise.

Is you amp bolted directly to the metal or thru the carpet to the metal? If so you may want to take a piece of wood and slide under the carpet and the bolt the amp to the wood. This could stop any type of grounding issue you have with a loop. if that doesn't work you could also try running a small gauge(amp turn on size) wire from the ground on the amp to the chassis ground for the radio. Also what type of car is it? and where is the closest wire loom from the factory in relation to your amp? anywho just a few suggestions lemme know if they work.

Hello, another thing you can check is if your rca wires are the helix or standard. If they are helix (twisted) then the noise should cancel out on the rca. I am guessing thet they are standard though.
