I have a customer wanting to do some mobile video, multiple amps, components, subs, the works. What is the BEST way to keep his Onstar intact? I know we have to relocate the factory radio and add a small speaker up front. Anybody have tricks, tips? Thanks

I think there are kits from Metra or Sosche so that you can keep the origional head unit in the vehicle (relocate it) or there is another kit to just get rid of it all together while keeping onstar

why not use quality line out convertors and use the factory head and save the headaches?

Here is your answer!

You can either use the "OS-2" or the "OS-2BOSE"

With this you dont have to keep or hide the factory radio to be able to have "On Star"

But you will have to add an extra speaker under the dash for the "On Star", ex. cellphone handsfree speaker

When "On Star" kicks in, it will turn off the aftermarket sound system, and the extra hidden speaker will turn on

I have installed many full systems in the new Hummer H2 and have been able to keep "On Star"

If you need any help you can call me at 805 379-3325, ask for Nat

You don't have to keep the factory radio

You can remove it completely

Good Luck!

SoundGate also has interfaces for replacing the radio in H2's and keeping OnStar
