I just bough two 10w6v2 subs and I am looking for an amp. What would be the best amp to go with? Also should I go with a ported or sealed box, what are the differences in sound between the two? I'm going to be putting this in my 03 Mustang Mach 1.

Well, the 19w6v2's are 4ohm DVC's, so you've got several amp options.

1) 1 Class D amp rated apx. 800 x 1 @ 1 ohm
2) 2 Class D amps rated apx. 400 x 1 @ 2 ohms
3) 1 2-channel Class AB amp rated apx. 400 x 2 @ 2ohms or 800 x 1 @ 1 ohm mono/bridged

There are others as well, but those would be my 3 recommendations. What is your price range for the amp(s)?

Ported enclosures will give you excellent response at the tuned frequency, and average response at the rest. They generally require less power then a sealed enclosure to sound good, but are larger in size. These are mainly for SPL.

Sealed enclosures will give you above average response at most frequencies, and are smaller in size. They are easier to build than ported enclosures. These are more for Sound Quality, but can be designed for increased SPL as well.

My preference is a small sealed enclosure. I love the boom, but want it to be audible and crisp as well. I've installed systems in mustangs before, and the trunk space is limited (especially after you add in amps, caps, crossovers, etc). So I would suggest a sealed enclosure.

What type of music do you listen to?

Nice choice in rides by the way. I prefer the 70 Mach1 myself, but I wouldn't turn down the 03 aniversary either!

Thanks Bberman, it's much appreciated.

BTW, I meant to say 10w6v2 above (not 19w6v2!).
