i am gettting an l7 12 andi have a bp600.1 which has no subsonic filter i was wondering if i could build a ported box still without damaging anything everything ive read says u need 1 for a ported box

You should have one, it will help protect that sub no doubt, most if not all systems should have one. Same thing I recommended on a similar post. Have a look at a processor made by Audio Control. www.audiocontrol.com. They will have what you need.
