sub to amp wiring help

I have 2 JL audio 15w6 subs, which are dual voice coils at 6 ohms a piece, i think. Then i have a Rockford Fosgate Power bd1001 amp to push them, but i think the amp is only stable at 2 ohms. What would be the best way to wire these subs for loud bass? I need a diagram or sumthin

You need an amp that's 1ohm stable to drive those subs. They are 6ohm DVC's rated at 400RMS. Since you're using (2) 6ohm DVC's, you can wire into 1.5 ohms (parallel) or 6 ohms (series/parallel). 6 ohms isn't going to give you any power, so you need to concentrate on the 1.5 ohm configuration. The RF Power 1001bd is only stable to 2 ohms. My suggestion is to find a different amp that is 1 ohm stable, like the JBL BP1200.1 and wire the subs in parallel



You can wire like that to the RF 1001bd, and it may or may not fry the amp. I've heard some people say the've run those at 1 ohm with minimal clipping and the amp shutting down. I wouldn't do it with my equipment though. If you can return the RF amp, do so and buy a 1ohm stable amp.
