I had a question about wiring the door and rear speakers to a amp. I will be replacing all the factory speakers with aftermarket ones. My question is can i use the factory wiring still, i was going to tie the front speaker wires to the rear speaker wires up at the head unit, and run new wires off the rear, that way i dont have to run new wires from all the way up front. Can this be done on the explorer?? I believe it has the jbl system, it does have the factory sub in the back, but has a clarion radio installed with a wiring adapter.. Can i go with this route or do i need to run all new wirs to the front also??? Like in some of the older aerostars. Thanks for your help in advance
On your vehicle this can not be done as there are no wires up front for speakers. Up front there is only a signal from the radio to the tuner pack/amp in the rear. Running wires will yield you better results anyway and help you in getting a noise free installation.
Ok thanks, where exactlly is the factory amp located, it is a 2 door explorer sport?? And also can i use the spaeker wires at the amp?? Bypassing the amp and just using th speaker wires that are at the amp??
Thanks
Behind the panel in the rear, on the passenger side, on top of the wheelwell. I wouldn't use the factory wire but that's my personal opinion.
Ok thanks, i appreciate the help, im not sure hat ill do about the wiring yet, its not my car, someones im working on, ill give them both options and let them decide. Thanks Again!!!!!!!
