i have one of these old amps and i want to know do i have to have 2 batterys in the rear of the car and a cap i have 1 optima now i heard these amps are power vampires

no--- i have one run off of 1 battery. I put a 1 farad cap on to stiffen it a little. Gonna be selling it soon if anyone is interested. Mine is the white one.

do you lights dim with one 1 farad cap and do you have the battery in the rear and does your get hot too i have had 2 white ones that really get hot

Lights dim a little. I have a stout battey though. Not sure the brand, but it's the biggest one I could put in my car (2000 accord coupe).

Battery is under the hood.

No it doesn't get hot. I have it monted in the trunk, so it gets god ventilation.
