My system consists of an  Alpine head unit,  in the front I have factoy component speakers, in the rear I have 6.5 Infinity full range co-axe, and 4x6 blaupunkt full range speakers. The 10" MTX bandpass speakers are powered by a Clarion 1000 watt amp. The bass and the highs sound fine, but it just seems like it is lacking some mid-range sound. Should I replace either of the 6.5 speakers with some mid-range speakers, like Kicker Resolution R6C's or should I go with an equalizer to enhance the mid-range or both.

Get rid of the factory components up front and replace them with a nice comp set from Focal, Diamond, MB Quart, etc.

No doubt, and while you are at it, get rid of the Kerplunkt 4x6" in the rear, they do not need to be there. An eq is a band aid for a problem, find the problem and solve it, in this case better front speakers and an amp to power them.
