Hi there.  If the reason you want to do this is to get better sound in your car, there are MUCH better options for the price that the OEM Bose system.  I'll bet a new Bose factory head unit and speakers/amps will cost you more than $1000 from a Nissan dealer.  For that price, I could design a system for you (and so could any competent car audio person) that would blow the Bose system away without breakling a sweat.  I really, honestly recomend you look into what else is avialable.  Cheers.

I tried to do with my 97 altima. Don't do it!!! Because you need everything and I mean everything. The radio, all of the amps (there are 4), the speakers, the wiring harnesses (yeah, there's more than one), the brackets, and then you need to properly cut the holes on the rear deck because the rear Bose speakers are 6x9 not 6.5. It's really not worth. If the car wasn't equipped with Bose it's not worth trying to add something like that. I asked a couple dealers how much it would cost to do something like that and the cheapest I was quoted by a dealership was close to "probably around 1700 bucks".

Just go with the aftermarket on this. A lot easier.

Bose sux!!!, you pay to much for it when you buy a new car, , when it dies, it costs twice as much to put in aftermarket stuff.   Bose is just plain and simple a big as thorn in your a$$.

There just a overly mentioned name.  You can get a very very nice system in your car for the same price as the factory option.

Whenever I find Bose equipment in someone's home theatre I'm working on, I know I have an easy pigeon who values name brand more than sound, and I can upsell them to more expensive brands every time.  I tell people that "Bose" is short for "Bounce Around Sound."

Really, bose home theater stuff dosn't even have a real tweeter. No highs, No lows, must be bose.

Bose stuff sounds great in the show room because they play a cd made by BOSE, , but when you take the exact same cd and play it on Mirage, Yamaha, Paradigm, it is FRIGGEN AMAZING how great they sound with that cd.
