get a volt meter and make sure power is coming in throughthe wires... then if it is get like a y-adapter from like red -white to a headphone jack and hook it up 2 ur amp and the other end to a cd player and see if it works then if so its your rcas.... but if the amp isnt turning on check ur REM maybe it was a bad splice r w/e behind the deck and its not getting any power now.....if not that check your settings to make sure that sub output is on b/c on mine i can change whether or not the REM turns on..... just a few of my thoughts/....

yeah this is what happend. my old amp got fried. right where the hot wire and amp is connected.. so i got a new amp.

it connected everything and it wont turn on.

so i took a spare 4 guage wire . (currently its  an 8 guage wire) and tested it from the battery to the amp to see if it works. and it turned on.

so i'm not sure wats going on. i know its the old 8 guage wire. but wut can go bad with them?

the fuse on the thing is ok. so wut di need to do change the hot wire?

Did you check the fuse near the battery?

i have seen fuses go bad, but still look perfectly fine.  So it may be a defective fuse not passing power, or a remote wire not passing power.  the only way to find the pronb is by testing the wires with a meter.

Try using a dmm on the power cable going to the amp.

I thought I posted that comment somewhere, so did you get that pos working yet. (anything that does not work when it is supposed to is a pos - if is labelled Bose or similar then it is a big POS - so I'm not hatin on your gear)

wuts another way i can test to see if the wire is passing wire beside going out and buying a meter?

i dont think its the remote wire. cuz if it was the remote wire. then  the amp should not have powered wen i used the 4 guage hot wire to test the amp...

right? plz?

your 8ga wire could have been running too much current and seperated at some place during the run from the battery to the amp, i would just reccomend replacing the 8ga wire. 8ga is nothing expensive any more, why not just run the 4ga to your amp already. problem solved.

i dont run the 4 guage wire that i have already cuz it sounds like crap. its sounds like weak and not the same bass.

the 8 guage wire kicked and damn it sounded great..

then when i switched to the 4 guage. yes it powers the amp. but then the sub woofers sounds Retarded! like seriously

so i guess i'm going to have to buy an 8 guage wire with a fuse... and all that other stuf.. man. i'm not even sure y the old 8 guage wire is not passing power thru?

umm the way i tell if im getting power for the battery...prob not the smartest way... but take the power wire and try to touch it to metal of the car and see if it sparks... its like making a big battery loop if no spark the fuse is prob shot.... just dont hold it long itll fry the fuse...

i bet your holder or fuse isnt conducting power towards your amp cuz obviously its not gettin power after that point

Bottom line is that your gong to end up replacing your main power wire.  It is very easy to do and im sure that you could handle it yourself.  Go out and get yourself another 8 gauge power wire and that amp should work.  Just make sure that you are using the correct size power wire for the amp you are using.

I would suggest check your connections, just had that happen to a friend that was running to small of wire not too much smaller he was running 4awg and did not want any bigger cable anyhow it ended up being the connection at the battery and the fuse holder under the hood (but he thought it was the cable and he was going to get some new 4awg wire)....so again I would check your connections and make sure that they are good, I would cut off the end an make a new connection all the way around....

oh by the way who ever put his fuse holder on super glued the d*mn thing......I could not get if off, not even to check the fuse...a real winner

also if you dont have a dmm to check to see if the fuse holder is causing you trouble you can use a jumper wire to connect the two ends and see if you get a spark

just place a wire on both ends of the wires going into the fuse box you should get a spark there also ....

thanks :-) sorry if it was posted previously...

well i figured that pulling 40amps....so you are really gettin' close if you are running your cable 10-13ft  you need 6awg, 7-10ft  8, etc....

if your going to be getting any bigger of amp in the future? I would suggest the 4awg, i
