i have a couple questions for the audio gurus lol. i have a crossfire CFA 602 Amp and a Alpine Type S 1041 sub. the manual is kind of vague.
amp info:
watts: 150x2 600x1
2ohm stable
sub info:
alpine type S 1041 10 inch SVC
watts: 600 peak 200 nominal 4 ohm
here are the images from the manual:
my question is this,
1. in the 3 channel mode (1st illustration) with the sub hooked up bridged and two 6x9`s hooked up normaly how many watts will be going to the sub?
2. how many to the other two speakers?
3. will the ohm stay at 4 for the sub?
4. where would i set the crossover switch (2nd illustration) in the 3 channel mode?
is running a sub and two 6x9`s in the 3 channel mode as per the 1st illustration even feasible?
any help for the audio challenged would be appreciated.
1. 600 watts rms (this is a big old amp)
2. 150 watts rms to each other speaker
3. yes
4. it must be set to full range.
Yes it can be done and has been done properly for years. You will however need to construct a passive crossover for both the 6x9" speakers and the sub to limit the range of frequencies that each are going to play.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
No, what this amp is doing is running simultaneous 4 ohm stereo (150w rms x 2) and 4 ohm mono (600w rms x 1). The power output will not go down. This amp is a tank, might be a white one but it was a great amplifier.

The manual may have a misprint (never seen that before
). This is one very large bejesus amplifier. Remember , 2 ohm stereo = 4 ohm mono. This amp was rated at 300w rms x 2 at 2 ohm stereo, thus the 600w rms @ 4 ohm mono rating. It is basically a very similar amplifer to the VR602 amp.

the specs in the maual are:
RMS Power 150x2
maximum power (mono) 600x1
THD 0.08%
bandwidth: 5Hz to 38KHz
signal to noise: >100db
damping factor: >300
seperation: 68 db
input sensitivity : 190 mV-5V
input impedance : 20 Kohm
power fuse: dual 30 amp
CROSSOVER
lowpass: 70/100 Hz
highpass: N/A
x-over slope: 12 db
45 Hz boost switch: yes
what if i were to only run the single sub off it? how would i wire it ? i assume that bridging it with no other speakers hooked up would be to much for the alpine sub to handle, am i correct? if i run it as per the illustration in 3 channel mode could you point me in the right direction to get crossovers for the 6x9`s and the sub. thanks for your time guys. hope im not to much of a pain in the ass lol
