i found out what ISO means, but what excactly is side mount suppose too mean?

Most commonly used in Toyota vehicles. It retains the use of the factory radio mounting brackets which bolt onto the predrilled holes in the sides of the cd player. It also requires no cutting of the dashboard to mount the ugly aftermarket cage and trim bezel. It is a way more solid mount and looks quite nice as well.

you'll also find it in other Japanese brands like Mazda, the new Chevy Aveo, Suzuki's, etc.   the nice thing about ISO mounting a radio is that you get to retain the factory storage pocket
