Hi, i have a 1987 Acura Legend. I noticed that there are 2 ( of what seem to look like) aerial leads connecting to the stock H/U. The only difference between the 2 is that one is the male connector one is the female. I currently have an FM Band Expander connected to the usual one thats used for most headunits and the other one is now unconnected, I was wondering what was the difference between the 2 aerials leads and now i notice that my FM reception has decresed somewhat.

Some cars use what are called diversity antennas, meaning there are actually two aireals and the head unit sums their signal.  I don't know if this is the case in your car, but it could be the reason your reception degraded.
