i just got a second hand amp off my friend for a good deal. and he assures me its in working order.
anyways.. the amp has got 2 fuse sockets on it and 1 of the fuses is missing. if i need to replace it. do i replace it with the same rating fuse?
also the screws on it are rusting a bit, will it be fine if i replace the screws with normal metal ones and use gold plated forked crimp terminals to wire it up?
use the same value fuse as the other socket, a reg screw will work just make sure it's the right size.

Your friend 'bent the truth'. It can't be in "working order" with a missing fuse...and did you not test it?

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
no no.. apparently.. its been in working order and has not been used for half a year now.. so i guess he had taken the fuse for other purposes.. but we'll see if its working when i install it. so just to confirm.. the 2 fuses are at each end of the side of the amp. the 1st fuse which is next to the power, ground and remote line is 20A. the other one is next to the speaker terminals. so i'll just get another 20A fuse to replace that do i?
i just soaked the screws and wiped the terminals with CRC (equiv of WD-40) and i'm leaving the screws overnight to strip the rust off.. then we'll see if they look more presentable so i dont need to change any of them.
