i need to make some sort of a bench tester for my garage. like say, my head unit doesnt work and i want to see if its the deck without having to put it in another car to test it. same with amps and such. whats the safest best way to optain this? thanx

I used to just hook everything up to a car battery and do my testing that but around christams time I bought a power supply. It plugs into a regular house outlet. Comes in real handy.

get a good quality high amperage regulated power supply...then build a switching station with line level and pre amp inputs and outputs wired to a set of speakers... this will give you an entry level test bench which should do the job in most cases..... it will allow you to test decks and amps.....

sounds like a plan. the main thing i was missing, was the regulated power supply. couldnt figure out how to get safe power.
