Subject: Bass making my Alpine changer skip

I have the Alpine MP3 CD changer installed vertically in my
armrest/center console of my 95 2dr Explorer. I installed 3 12" MTX subs and they hit so hard my CDs are skipping. Anyone have a sugestion of how to install my changer so it dosent skip? I have to use a changer becasue Im using the CVA-1005 head unit and it dosent take CD's.

Thanks!

Move the changer into a location where you can mount it horizomtally.  If that doesn't work, get a different changer and/or turn down the bass.

TRY MOUNTING IT HORIZONTALLY VS. VERTICALLY.... it may be less prone to skip that way.... unfortunately if your subs are generating enough concussion to make your CD player skip there may not be much you can do about it without limiting the amount of low end in the vehicle....

try relocating the changer first tho

OK, Ill try to move the changer into the glove box so I can
mount it horizontally. Has any one ever heard of any methods of securing the changer so it dosent get as much of the vibrations that the subs are putting out? I never thoguth my new system would be this loud. Hats off to MTX, I got 3 7500 DVC 12" with a 8100D amp running them. I cnat wait to hear the 4 9500 12" Im going to put in my competition car with 2 1501's.

Did we remember to set the suspension springs to vertical?

make sure the mount setting is set for verticle vise horizontal, it should be under the mounting brackets on both sides

you could make an air tight box for the changer, , but i will take a few min every time you want to change the cd magazine

Make sure your changer is securely mounted also,  I have an Alpine changer mounted next to 2 JL 15W3D4's and I have no skipping what so ever.
