Hi there.  I'm wondering if somebody would be so kind as to post the pinouts for a factory Toyota radio.  I don't need the cd-changer connector, just the main 2 plugs for the audio/power portion.  If a photo of the back of the radio is needed, I can post one.

Thanks!!!

Why do you need this? What car did the radio come out of?

I have a leftover Toyota CD player that I am either going to put into a different car, or my garage.  The car is irrelevant, since Toyota has not changed the wiring since arouind '87 or '88...  FWIW, it came out of a 2000 Rav4.  Wire color is not going to help me, I just need the physical locations of the power and speaker outputs.  I will be venturing to the junkyard this weekend to grab a wiring harness from any Toyota I can find.

look for the most obvious power pins. Check continuity to ground (case), work your way out from there. I've had to do this a couple of times, always managed ok.

I was asking mainly because metra makes aftermarket "factory harness". 15 bucks for one of these will save you alot of time and headaches trying to make your own harness. The harness in question is metra part #71-1761. This harness will act like the original harness and you can wire it into the car and plug the radio in.

Well, since I already have a factory harness, I see no point in spending more $$$ for no reason.  I just need the pinouts.  I can post a pic of the back of the unit if need be.

This is all I could find for a pinout.

Thanks for the diagram.  It was close, but not quite, but enough to get the head unit up and running with no problems.  However, I have 2 wires left over that I cannot seem to determine...

On the larger connector at position 10, there is a DK.GRN wire, and on the smaller connector at position 5, there is a WHT/GRN wire.  I haven't a clue as to what these functions are.  I'm pretty sure there is no power antenna output, nor a remote turn on so that leaves me with a dimmer input, however neither responds to a +V input.

Can anyone shed some light on the last two?

Use this for the color codes of the factory harness then match the harness up to the pins. https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=2000&make=Toyota&model=Rav4&ID=19034&type=Stereo That would be the easiest thing to do.
