Ok, this is probably a stupid question but I want to wire this system up right.  I am buying a system for my girl.  I don't want to spend bookoo bucks on it but I don't want it to be cheap either so I am getting her 1 Alpine MRD-M301 mono amplifier (350W x 1 RMS [2ohm;@14.4V 1% THD+N]; 250W x 1 RMS [2ohm;@12V 1% THD+N]; 150W x 1 RMS [4ohm;@12V 1% THD+N]) and 1 Alpine SWS-1242D 12" Subwoofer.  I heard that 8 gauge power and ground wire is recommended for this amp and sub but what about speaker wire?  What gauge is recommended for wiring this amp and sub together?

for the speaker wire you will be fine using 16 ga but most people use 12 ga or 10 ga for that "bigger bader" look.
